We will be updating our 2023 event information and adding a link to the registration page in March 2023! Hang tight until then and save the date: Friday, June 30, 2023 at 6:00PM.

Welcome back to Steele Subaru Sole Sisters! We have some exciting news for our return to racing.  We are inviting our brothers, fathers, sons, uncles, nephews, cousins, friends and volunteers to join us to celebrate the 2022 Sole Sisters Race! After so much time apart during the pandemic we felt now is the time to bring everyone together. Plus, we wanted to do things a little bit differently for our 10th Anniversary.

Our race is chip timed so Cool Misters (see what we did there?) joining in will be able to let Sole Sisters set the pace from the front while supporting and encouraging Sole Sisters by racing with them. Chip-timed race results will reflect female finishers and male finishers in separate results. And true to our belief that finish lines matter more than finish times, you do not have to be listed in the results at all.

We plan to have a rainbow of tutu colors so that you are surprised when you get your race kit. These tutus are made exclusively for Sole Sisters and expand to 46″ which means they fit XS to 4XL. We have even had them on our male volunteers to insure that they fit most!

With news that construction at Graham’s Grove will not be completed before November 2022 we must change our usual race route. We will remain in Dartmouth and be 4K from our usual Graham’s Grove start location utilizing the same 5K route that Epic Canadian used on July 1st with a slight modification to the route direction. With the exception of less than a kilometer along Lakeshore Drive the race route will be entirely within Shubie Park. For anyone that has participated in the Sole Sisters Quarter/Half Marathon you will recognize this route.

Not sure where to park for the race or for our training SOCIALS see below.

Our training SOCIALS are free, join us to walk or run the 2022 course.

Everything you read below relates to the 2020 race. We are keeping it here so that you know more about the history of Sole Sisters Race as we recognize the 2022 event will be much more limited due to a course change and additional safety requirements.

We have a  blog regarding the effect of Covid-19 on our 2020 Race.

Join us on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 6pm for a chip timed 5K that you can run or walk.  There is a HUG station, chocolate station, cheer/water stops, music on course, fire fighters and simply put, the prettiest finisher’s medal you’ll ever get. Plus, you get to pick the amount of swag you do or don’t want (tutu? technical tank? short sleeve shirt? race wrap? no swag?). Your race, your choice.  But don’t wait to register, this event always sells out early.

We are pleased to announce that Sole Sisters Women’s 5K has been selected to be a part of the 2020 Run Nova Scotia Road Race and Performance Series.

Perhaps you love tutus, or maybe you’ve never thought much one way or the other.  We have a very specific reason for running in tutus and for giving them out at Sole Sisters.  If you do not know our story please take time to read our story here.

This has been our course since 2017 because we thought… If you’re going to participate in a race in the summer of Nova Scotia, why not have the most beautiful views possible? Gorgeous Lake Banook, Sullivan’s Pond, Dartmouth and  Graham’s Grove – you’re welcome ladies!

While we personally believe in the mantra of “FINISH LINES NOT FINISH TIMES” we have heard from so many Sole Sisters that we know our participants want the Saturday night 5K to be timed. So for our June 6, 2020 event we will be timing all runHERs and walkHERs. If you would prefer to not be timed we will offer you the ability to be listed as an official finisHER with no time in the registration process. However, all participants will be timed by default.

2020 is the year of the unicorn and we explain the inspiration for it in our blog entry about Blame Sheila.

Race gear like this is why you have likely heard we have the nicest race swag in Canada. Great designs, technical material and shirts that fit everyBODY – we don’t do unisex, we do female fit.   And if you don’t want a race shirt, you’ll still get a beautiful finishers medal and fun race wrap!  Curious about previous year’s designs just look below.
